Bleeding, alone and afraid 7 wks post-op (kids mentioned)

My husband left for basic training on sunday. I am now a single mom for a while to two small children while he is away. I stopped bleeding three weeks ago and monday morning I am bleeding again. Not enought to soak a liner but it bothers me after not bleeding for three weeks. When I went for my 6 week check up dr told me I had to come back in two weeks because the vaginal cuff was not fully healed and he wanted to watch for granulation. I have a burning sensation running from hip bone to hip bone right along my incision line. There is also a burning sensation in my vaginal area. I am afraid I am doing too much and may have done damage to my healing wounds but if I don't do it I have no one else that will. My daughter isn't even walking yet. Clothes and dishes won't wash themselves! and with two small kids....there are a lot of both! I also went back to work last tuesday and have been just go go go since then. So I am bleeding alone and afraid 7 weeks post op.

Re: Bleeding, alone and afraid 7 wks post-op (kids mentioned)

I am so sorry that you are going through this alone. If you are concerned about the bleeding, please call your doctor. Generally unless you are soaking a pad an hour, it shouldn't be too serious but I am not a doctor. He or she can advise you best especially since you had no bleeding for 3 weeks.
Is there anyone that can help you with the children and the house? You are still in recovery and you still need to rest and heal.

Re: Bleeding, alone and afraid 7 wks post-op (kids mentioned)

I feel your pain- my DH is active duty and leaves at 2 am for a month comes back for a month and then deploys for a year. I am 2 wks post op and so scared. I can usually handle every and anything. I pride myself on being an army wife and sucking it up and pushing through. It is hard to do that when I can barely walk and have been having dizzy episodes. If you have any family or close friends, don't be afraid to ask for help! (hopefully i will take my own advice if needed) best of luck!!

Thanks librob10. My parents were both army. I was raised Fort Hood. Brother in the Army National Guard. Various uncles and cousins in the other branches of service. How could I tell my husband no....you can't join the Coast Guard? I know what you mean about priding yourself on being an army wife and sucking it up and pushing through. I have been putting up a good front not letting anyone know how afraid I was about recovering while he is gone with the two little ones and how hard this is on me now. No one knows that I am bleeding again except my hystersisters. No one knows how sore and tired I am. No one knows about the burning from hip bone to hip bone. "You look so much better than you did last week." Gee...really....thanks because I feel like **** but I'm not going to tell you that I cry myself to sleep at night and that I have to fight the tears when I pick up my daughter or pick up my son's toys or lug around that heavy briefcase with the laptop and extra monitor. My mother watches my kids while I go to work and my sister and her two kids moved back in with her so I hate asking her for help because she does so much for me already and has so much to deal with on her own with my sister and her kids. My mother in law is an hour away. My best friend lives 6 hours away. My brother has a newborn to worry about. I just don't want to be a burden to any one more than I already feel I have been. Wow...that was a lot. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest!

Is there a church you could ask for help from? It really sounds like you need some help of you are going to end up hurting yourself more in the long run. You should not be picking up more than a gallon of milk, not a child. I am so sorry you are in that position of having to do it all. I hope you can find some help somewhere. I am worried about you.
