12 days post op, no symptoms yet?

Did major research prior to having TLH, removing both ovaries as well. I was prepared for surgical menopause to be swift and difficult! So far, I have had night sweats only twice, and other than some crankiness (which honestly I cannot say is due to hormones...just me!!) I am not suffering from menopause symptoms. Peri-menopause prior to surgery was worse? Anyone have similar experience? Not that I want to start, but want to figure out what is going on with me. Have my HRT estrogen patches and Oasis Serene cream ready to go. Doctor suggested waiting for symptoms before using so they are still in the box. Any thoughts on all this? Thanks!!

That's great that you are not having symptoms yet. I think your doctor has given good advice.

I am in the same boat. I am 18 days post-op and no signs of menopause. I am 45.

I am 46...and so happy to hear I am not alone! Again, not wishing for symptoms. Is it possible for the body to "store" hormones? I was on norethindrone (progesterone) for several months to stop bleeding prior to my surgery. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

I don't know. I was not on any hormones before surgery but my doctor warned that I might "slam" into menopause. I am not complaining but I also wonder what the average time is for symptoms to arrive.

I am wondering the same thing. I am only 2 days post op and so far nothing. Feeling like a waiting game. No HRT dr said to wait and if something comes up before my post op appointment to call him.
