Having issues with memory

I was researching for post surgery results. Having issues with memory. I am really bad in remembering. Short term. Was wondering if anyone had any problems with this. It looks like it could be low estrogen.

Re: Having issues with memory

Are you on any medications that could cause memory problems? I am on Gabepentin (neurontin) and I have occasional difficulties with memory. But I have also heard of the "foggy head" being caused from low estrogen levels too.......hope this helps.

Re: Having issues with memory

In the months before my most recent surgery (to remove a large endometrioma inside my second ovary), I experienced more and more memory issues and brain fog. As the endometrioma disrupted ovarian function, it got worse. Now that I am three weeks out from surgery and using HRT (Combipatch) I can feel my memory and brain working better. I am not experiencing the word-finding or communication difficulties nearly as much and it keeps getting better.

Hope that helps!

Re: Having issues with memory

kellie, At almost two years post-op, I decided to try an increase in estrogen to eliminate the waking up at night from night sweats. The most significant change after doing that was the disappearance of the brain fog I'd been dealing with all that time. I was so foggy that I didn't even realize HOW foggy until it cleared. It's nice to be back in the real world.
