chronicalogical menopause

I am new hear, and looking forward to being part of this communit
I am wondering if anyones gyne. talks about how even after 25 years with out estrogen due to surgical meno.( sporadic bout of replacement but never did well emotionally on it) when you reach the age of menopause, you will have symptoms. This is due to the fact other organs produce menopause.. So she thinks my severe insomnia, middle weight gain, heat intolerance , and depression is actually menopause and I should go on low dose estrogen patch....after so many years of none This makes me curious what those this many years out are experiencing. The toll of no estrogen since thirties has sadly been hairloss,( have to wear replacement, ) but thankfully not bone issues. To say the least at 56 i am confused but know i need to do something. thank you and wish everyone well. g

I haven't ever heard of what you've described. Have you considered getting a second opinion? How long has it been since you had your thyroid levels checked? Symptoms of thyroid imbalance can mimic the symptoms of menopause.
