If my ovaries are not visible, why the hot flashes?

I got the results from my ultrasound. The report said my right ovary was not found, and my left ovary is shriveled to a very small size.

If all of this is true, why do I have awful hot flashes day and night?

The ovaries can't produce enough estrogen to keep the flashes under control.

My ovaries couldn't be seen on an ultrasound either, had to have an internal scan instead (yuck) turns out they were hiding behind something, could be that's where you're right ovary is and that is why you have the flushes.

You have my sympathy, I'm having them along with night sweats and they are driving me crazy.
