Irriatable, sad, anxiety...hrt? or another med?
Any advice or experience will be appreciated!
I am 8 1/2 weeks post TAH and RSO (so I have 1 ovary left). I did have some hot flashes early and problems sleeping, but those are now better. My only problem is emotional...irriatability, sadness, anxiety...but it is bad and doesn't seem to be getting better...maybe worse.
I hope that my 1 ovary kicks back in, but I cannot wait any longer...I need help.
Called the Dr today, but he's out until next Tuesday.
But I would love to know if others went straight to HRT or if you tried other medications (depression/anxiety meds). I hate to start taking estrogen and then would I know if my ovary kicks in and I can stop taking????

You are still early post op. It may take some time for your remaining ovary to kick back in. I would suggest keeping a journal of your symptoms. It may be helpful to see if things are getting better or worse over time. If some of your symptoms are getting better, it could very well be that the ovary is starting to kick in, but just not optimally yet. Another important thing to keep in mind is that full recovery from a hysterectomy can take longer than the 6-8 weeks when the majority of doctors release us.
