My brain is in a muddle as well. Can't remember if I am coming or going. Thanks for the laugh!

1) no matter how great the movie is, don't rent the movie " Due Date" unless you want to spend 90 minutes alternating between holding your stomach to reduce the pain from laughing, or changing your underwear multiple times due to wetting them from laughing.
Lol. I agree with you on this. We just watched it tonight and I am 6 weeks post-op. I think had I watched it sooner, I definitely would have been having my insides stitched back up. I also still have insomnia and try to be super quiet while I am roaming the house at night, but several times I have woke up dh. Most times he doesn't say anything, I all of a sudden feel someone staring at me and when I look, I just see his eyes. Scares the poop out of me(now that I think of it, that would have been nice in the first 2 weeks). Last night I sneezed and scared the heck out of him and he shot straight up out of the recliner, lol.

Re: 5 things NOT to do after surgery

My poor DH came to kiss me when he was leaving for work yesterday morning. He thought I was awake...I woke up when he was about 3 inches from me. I screamed, jumped and then grabbed my abdomen. He felt bad, I felt bad, my swelly belly felt worse.

So....kissing in the morning can be problematic to healing. Just sayin.

Re: 5 things NOT to do after surgery

My husband, trying to cheer me up, made me watch "Due Date" in the hospital four days after surgery. I was worried that my stitches were going to pop! I have to admit, despite the pain, I felt in a much better frame of mind compared to now back at home!

Re: 5 things NOT to do after surgery

Having read this thread I now have to rent Due Date.

Thanks for the laughs ladies and I must add, I too forget the deoderant, don't know why as pre-op I was pretty OCD about it. Putting it down to the brain having turned to mush.

Good stuff! Man, Due Date is at the top of my netflix queue- I better move it down a bit so I can heal before laughing that much!

Re: 5 things NOT to do after surgery

Lol. Well I was pretty anal about my deodorant pre op too. I guess you're right...must be mushy brain syndrome!

Brandy so glad you remembered!
That makes..one of us..yep..guilty of forgetting AGAIN today even aftra repeating the mantra "I will put on deodorant today." I must've said it AT LEAST ten times this morning while peeing, showering, and dressing...but brain mush syndrome kicked in and alas..no deodorant.

How do I make it habit again? Hmm.
