had my surgery! LSH, rectocele repair, vaginal/bladder suspension, bladder sling
Had my surgery on monday and came home yesterday! I could have come home a day earlier but I was still retaining too much urine so I would have come home with a cath. I was still in alot of pain too, so I opted to stay another night. I am still retaining some urine, but it is an 'acceptable' amount, i guess. So far, I really don't have much feeling as far as a need to pee- I just go sit there occasionally to see if anything happens or not....sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. Is this normal? I think maybe all the stuff just hasn't 'woken up yet?'
I also have a really 'full' feeling in my bum. I guess from the swelling but it feels like I need to have a bowel movement (still nothing happening with that- just gas) and I have a really hard time sitting upright- I can for a bit using a donut pillow but that doesn't help for very long.
The dr told me that he didn't need to repair my cystocele- after he suspended everything up (just stitches, no mesh!) that it self corrected- the rectocele was pretty bad so he used porcine graft and stitched it also, and I guess I had some scar tissue in my vagina from previous tearing/epesiotomy and he cleaned that up. He also did the bladder sling vaginally- he did it tighter than he normally does because my incontinance was pretty bad so he was concerned about me not being able to void, but apparently that is working well. I go back in 2 weeks to see him.
Still too early to know how things will turn out, but so far it seems really great!

Re: had my surgery! LSH, rectocele repair, vaginal/bladder suspension, bladder sling
I had my Cystocele and rectocele surgeries done about 3 weeks ago, and will be seeing my Dr. tomorrow. I'm quite anxious, as EVERYTHING seems to be WAY,WAY,WAY too tight inside my vagina. All this was done by a GYN recommended by my family Dr., and I kinda fear I may have made a mistake. Even very gentle wipeing of that area tends to cause a slight bleeding.... this CAN'T be normal???

oh no! I hope you get some answers at your appt. I don't know if bleeding when wiping would be because it was too tight- I hope it's an easier fix type of answer. Is it just bloody discharge or does the wiping cause the bleeding?
