HRT or not - What can I expect??

I cant believe I ask that question after reading all those posts... apparently it seems like there is no way to tell what is going to happen... but I'll ask anyway....

What can I expect??

I will be 39 having surgery on April 26th...terrified of the "after effects"

I am having a total due to fibroids, ovarian cyst (2cm) and family history (mom) OC...

BUT I don't feel sick, tired, pain.. nothing .. so this is REALLY hard for me to accept...especially the after effects of hormones or lack there of...

So what happens?? Is menopause instant?? How long will it last if I don't take HRT? and if i decide against HRT waht do I do??

If I were older (no offense) and already going thru the "change" I don't think I'd be as worried OR if I was really suffering and feeling bad...but being that I feel like I am JUST reaching some of my prime moments in life..in good health...decent shape... I am very concerned that I will come out of this worse than when I went in....

Any advice or suggestions about HRT/ maybe natural remedies??

I am six weeks post-op LAVH-BSO..so I am facing surgical menopause. I am 45 and so far it has been mild. I am not taking hormones. I take good quality vitamins and watch my diet. I have started to have "warm " flashes during the night but nothing major. I got my all clear to exercise today so I understand that also helps with symptoms. I had my hysterectomy for the same reasons you plus endomitriosis. So far is has been just fine...Taking it day by day
