Pillow Pets

I've read so many women say how much they loved having a pillow pet after surgery that I bought one. I was so excited when it arrived today, but no one else in my life can quite appreciate why I wanted one when a plain small pillow would work just as well. So, I thought I'd share my happiness here. Just wondering what pillow pet/pal you got/want and whether or not you named it. I chose the penguin because I always tell my hubby he's my penguin (since penguins mate for life). I named her Penny.

PS: Matching slippers will be here tomorrow or Thursday. Scheduled for surgery on 4-13. I think having a whimsical pillow and matching slippers will be just what I need as I recover.

Re: Pillow Pets

I saw Lambs and I think Duckies at Walgreens today!! I really was wanting a piggy (not a pillow pet, but a knock off) until I saw the lambs.

Re: Pillow Pets

I ordered mine through Amazon. But there's also a pillow pets website. They have unicorns too...which I almost got since I will soon be a princess, but couldn't resist the penguin.

Re: Pillow Pets

I had my surgery 10 days ago! My daughter (7) had a list for my husband to get me before I went to the hospital for my surgery. 1. Pillow Pet 2. Blue nail polish 3. Oprah magazine. I LOVE the pillow pet, I too, have the penguin, named Pepsi Rose (also named by the 7 year old) You will really use the pillow! I used it every time I laughed or coughed. I also, just rested it on my tummy, I just felt safer around the kids and it reminded them to be a little more careful around Mom. Also, when I slept I put it front of my belly when I lay on my side (after a day or so) That way the husband wouldn't hit it during the night! I will love my Pepsi Rose, she now rests on my bed just for hugs! You go girl, every princess should have a "Pillow Pet" P.S. I think the nail polish was really for her

Re: Pillow Pets

Mine wasn't actually a "pillow pet" but it was a stuffed animal that was all nice and floppy. It was a schnauzer (in memory of our favorite dog). I got comments and looks when I walked with it at the hospital but it was fantastic!

Used it between me and the seatbelt when I drove and while I was sleeping to support my tummy.

Re: Pillow Pets

A big ole panda bear! Used it for back support, tummy support, protection when the kittens set on my stomach, to protect my bottom when I sat on a chair, and to hug when I felt miserable. Sometimes I just use it as a pillow. I love that little critter and an super glad I got it.

Re: Pillow Pets

I just bought one yesterday and I am 5 wks post op. I bought it because when I sleep on my left side everything shifts. Plus, I can give it to my dtr when I am fully recovered. Of course she has already claimed ownership and named him Mr. Cuddles. It is a purple hippo.

Re: Pillow Pets

I didn't get a pillow pet, but I got a SQUSH pillow that is in the shape of a heart and red. It's got tiny beady things in it and it has been a lifesavor. Especially in the car under my seatbelt. It is soft, but when you press on it firm. Whatever type of pillow you get remember to either pack it with you to the castle or have it in the car you are coming home in to use under the belt. It really helps. Good luck to you all :0)

You should! They are cute and happy. I wish I would have bought one sooner.
