Not sure if it's menopause symptoms

Same for me, 12 days post-op and besides a few mild night sweats I have had no major symptoms. Today I started having some pain while urinating and now LOTS of painful, pelvic pressure but I'm not sure if it is menopause, bladder infection, or something worse. I am running a 99 temp and having chills so I don't think it is menopause but I don't know all the symptoms.
Anyone have any suggestions??
Thanks

I would call your doctor. To me it sounds like bladder/UTI infection.

Re: 12 days post op, no symptoms yet?

Saw my doctor yesterday. Recovery continuing, but still no major symptoms. Having mild night sweats and moody, but otherwise ok. The night sweats are getting a bit worse, so I am anticipating an onslaught of symptoms. Read an article on hystersisters that said some women have stored estrogen in fat cells that can last up to 4 months after surgery! My husbands response to that? "But you're not fat". Gotta love him! Contemplating starting my estriodol patch (got generic instead of Climara - insurance!). Doc said to go ahead and use it if I want, so maybe I will try to avoid having major problems. Perhaps it will be easier to head it off rather than correct it once I am "full throttle"?

Re: 12 days post op, no symptoms yet?

Thanks for your reply Doiknwya, that is exactly what I thought last night too but today the pressure went away. I did have bowel issues all day and some nausea today so I'm not sure what is going on. I spent the day resting & I am hoping tomorrow I will feel well and all these symptoms will be gone. Also praying no new ones show up either!

Karenlee- my surgeon told my husband the same thing about the fat storing hormones. Since I have had health issues since July I have gained about 15 pounds so I think he is hoping that will keep the mood swings away.

I also have some burning by the left side of my incision. I hope it is just ligaments or nerves repairing after surgery. Does anyone else feel the burning?

Re: 12 days post op, no symptoms yet?

This website is the best. I am 30 days post-op and no menopause symptoms. My doctor also prepared me for horrific menopause symptoms... That have not come. I hate the waiting game but love feeling better than I did before surgery. The hot flashes, night sweats, migraines, fatigue, and other symptoms I had before my total LAVH were horrible.
I have also heard about hormones being stored in fat cells, but unlike Chas32go, I am about 60lbs over weight. I so hope I don't have symptoms later.
Has anyone played the waiting game been lucky enough to NEVER experience menopause symptoms?

Well I have started to have my own summers and night sweats. I am currently trying a natural supplement but I don't think it is helping.
