waiting on the call LAVH--Update: LAVH May12th

Had my appt today what a relief that it's over! I was so nervous not sure why I didn't want to go in and feel like I had to fight. Anyway it was not what I expected. She came in smiling and said It's nice to see you again but not nice to see you again I have a feeling on what your going to say. I told her I was done and have thought over all the options we talked about on my last appt. She took a good look at my calanders and said she didn't blame me. An ablation would help my bleeding but not my pain and one failed attempt she didn't think it was worth a second try. An IUD would most likely help but could be 3/6 months of dealing with bleeding ect. And obviously a hysterectomy would most likely help my pain and cure the bleeding.

I asked her if she thought I was being to blod in my choice and she said absolutely not. There is a strong possibility she says that I could have endo and that if I do then the pain may or may not be gone. They will remove any they find. I will be having a LAVH. I should know by the end of the week when my date will be. I'm feeling relieved excited anxious scared and more. With my years of infertility and mc's and infant loss I feel like I have already grieved the loss of my broken parts and not being able to have more children. I can't wait to get this over with! I feel confident in the team of doctors that will be dealing with me. I have complete faith in them.

Re: waiting on the call LAVH

Hi tomcatsgil. I had my LAVH on 3/22 so I am 3 weeks post-op today. I can certainly relate to how you feel. I spent the last 3 weeks prior to my surgery dealing with severe abdominal pain from one of my extremely large fobroids that had cut off its own blood supply. I had come to terms with my "broken" parts and was very confident that I was making the right decision.

I just wanted to say to you that I'll be thinking about you and hoping that everything goes well for you. Also, after your surgery, this site has been so helpful to me for support and just the ladies who will share their stories so I knew I wasn't going crazy and what I was feeling was normal.

Take care of yourself and let us know how you're doing.
