Need to whine a bit--no sleep, hot flashes, lingering complications
I was well past menopause when I had my hysterectomy an kept my ovaries, so you'd think there wouldn't be much of a problem with hormone changes. Wrong. It's been awful.
The thing is, I've also had an ongoing problem with hydronephrosis caused by an abscess after surgery--basically the right kidney won'r drain correctly. I had a stent put in, it was okay for a short while, now it's back and I'll probably have another stent. My gynecologist doesn't want to prescribe HRT until i get that resolved, thinking many of my symptoms might be from the hydronephrosis.
So now I've got this middle-of-the-thing going that kind of combines back pain, hot flash, cold sweat, and nausea into one unhappy sleep-preventing experience.

Re: Need to whine a bit--no sleep, hot flashes, lingering complications
I'm sorry to hear your going through a hard time. Your symptoms sound like mine. I just went in to my dr and he put me on ambien and upped my lexapro to see if it would help with my problems. Plus I had a uti so Im on antibiotics. I finally got some sleep but as I sit here I'm still a little sleepy. I'm going to try amberen and see if it helps because everything I read it works. I hope you find relief soon! Keep me posted!
