It can take a bit from some women's bodies to deplete all of hormones she had been using. Also, fat cells can produce and store estrogen. Finally, endometriosis can produce estrogen. If you happen to have a combination of the three going on, it could make sense that your FSH isn't showing menopause as your body is already a bit mixed up.
There could also be a mix up with your blood work or something went haywire during testing.
What did your doctor say about your FSH level? Is there a particular reason you have stopped using HRT?
