HRT Advice Needed
Wondering if anyone has words of wisdom or advice for me. I had a complete hyst 5 years ago. Have been usiing Climara patch without an issue however the past 6 months I have had horrible skin irratation and rashes so bad I scratch off the patches. Dr switched to pills. Havent started them yet. Worried they wont be work as well not to mention additional weight gain. Also have vaginal itching (no discharge or anything like that) just an itch outside. Not sure what to do!!

Re: HRT Advice Needed
Hi moonflowers64!
The only HRT product I have used (for nearly 8 years) are pills. Weight gain and loss in human beings is all about "calories in (via your food and beverage choices and quantity) versus calories out" (via exercise and other physical activity). Since hormone pills don't contain any calories there's no way they can make a person gain weight.
You won't know how well the pills work for you until you try them. What I have taken has worked very well for me. Good luck!

Re: HRT Advice Needed
Ihave been on climara for several years at least also. My patches get itchy also. I have also started to get yeast infections. i am wondering if the climara is not absorbing anymore.l I did try the switch to vdot for about 3-4 weeks. I did have more lubrication down there but i felt "revved" on that patch, great for day time bad for night. I quit it and went back to climara. Climara had made me feel "normal" mentally. I guess if what we are using is not working for us now very well at all then we should switch . Keep doing the same thing you get the same results over and over again ..... as the saying goes. well, try the pills, you can always stop them and go back to climara . I keep trying to tell myself that too. My new gyn may want to switch me to. I go through those patches like crazy I may need something else.
