Birth Control Pills caused Liver Lesion- not canditate for menopause hormones

I'm 6 weeks post hyster. I took BC pills for 5 yrs. to control cysts growth and adnomeyosis of uterus. CAT Scan found cyst or adnoma on liver, kidney, spleen so had to immediately stop BC pills. Fine print on website said BC pills can cause liver problems and cysts. (I did not know this). I am not a candidate for any hormone therapy (no estrogen) due to the liver cyst. Are there any alternative menopause treatments to relieve symptons that you know of? Thanks

I would recommend not to take anything with black cohosh because I researched it before taking it and it can affect your liver. I took it for 3 days and had labs done and my liver enzymes came out high. I immediately stopped taking. I had labs done 2-3 wks later and everything came back normal. I'm not sure if it was the black cohosh or the gall bladder surgery.

I guess it just depends on what your symptoms are. Mine are different from some of the other ladies.

The thing is that he has me on a bcp to see if it will help with menopause symptoms too. I'm doing better than I was but not 100%. I'm curious on what bcp you were on because I'm on 1 too. I chose to get put on somehing because I'm struggling with menopause symptoms at 35 and with both ovaries! talk to your dr and let him/her know what your feeling.

I went to a health food store and got on herbal supplements. "At Ease" for modd/irritability, a menopausal support pill, and "brevail" as well as a spray for hot flashes. I have only been on them for a week, but notice a big difference. I had a complete Hyster a month ago, and I am 29. I didn't want to go on hormones immediately. I had stage 4 endometriosis, and hormones may make it come back. I am not ready to have endo again, or the pain that comes along with it. So I am trying herbal. I have heard vitamin E is good too... Find a good herbal store and talk to someone who works there who knows what they are talking about. I spoke to the owner of my local store. I hope I continue to feel this good. Good Luck!!
