No ERT coming out of surgery, but still haven't had a follow up appt.
My regular OB/GYN checked my hormone levels prior to me consulting with a surgeon. He never got back to me with results, so I assumed they were near normal. I consulted with the surgeon, scheduled surgery, got the prep kit, scheduled time off, blah blah blah, and the day before surgery he called and said "go see an endocrinologist before a surgeon." I had nearly zero estrogen and progesterone floating around . He and the surgeon consulted and decided I should go through with the surgery regardless.
I didn't have any patches applied or leave the hospital with any ERT/HRT prescriptions. Follow up is scheduled for next Tuesday.
In the meantime, I actually feel pretty normal. Except that this morning when my husband asked if I wanted another cup of coffee, i replied "I probably shouldn't. Don't want to get nauseated." He paused and said "is that a yes or a no?" His tone sounded really crabby to me and it made me cry. Which hurt my abdomen something fierce. Replaying the conversation is making me cry again.
SO.. think it's hormones/surgical menopause, or is my husband really a crab? Should I talk to my doctor before the follow up? I'm suddenly a mess. Like, in the course of writing this post, I've gone from fine to stupidly depressed.
