lower left ab pain five months post op

so i'm almost five months post op now. been feeling really good since dr increased my hrt. now in the last couple of weeks i started getting pain the same place i had it before surgery. it's in my lower left ab. i was only getting it after going for my usual run and somedays not even then. now i had the pain yesterday just when i was walking at work. i had it all evening and it was still there when i woke up. it's just uncomfortabe at the moment, but sometimes when i'm running it hurts so bad that i have to stop. the one day it was so bad when i was running that i was crying. anybody have a clue what would be causing this this far out and not all the time?

Re: lower left ab pain five months post op

Oh dear, I am so sorry for your problem. I can't answer your question, but if it makes you feel better I had REALLY bad left side pain that woke me up in the middle of the night before my surgery. When I awoke from my surgery--- it was that same side that hurt the most. I'm only a month post op but when I sneeze-- it goes directly to that spot on my left. I can only guess they did more cutting on that side during your surgery, but since you are so far along post op I think it would be a good idea for you to see your dr. Tell them it is bringing you to tears so hopefully they can get you in fast. I hope you are ok, and keep up posted.

thank you so much! i don't know i adheisions can do this or not. it's frustrating! up until probably a month ago i've been feeling better then i have in years. now i can't understand why i would hurt exspecially on my left side. i have nothing over there! i'm alittle excerise crazy so it's driving me nuts not to be able to do it or have to take it easy. i do have an appointment wiith my dr in two weeks anyway to go over my hrt. i will ask her then, but until then i hope someone has some ideas on why this could be happening.

Re: lower left ab pain five months post op

Hi!!
If it were me (because I err on the side of caution) I would at least call the office and ask about it. Anything that makes you cry (especially after surgery) is worth a quick phone call! When were you able to start exercising. Like I mentioned I am only 4 weeks post op and I am scared to do anything but walk. Also do you mind me hijacking your post and asking you about your hrt? I took some estrogen pills and they made me so dizzy I had to stop :-( Hey I just thought of something. Did you have endo? I know endo in fueled by estrogen. Perhaps it has something to do with that? Just a guess. Feel better!!

Re: lower left ab pain five months post op

no,i didn't have endo. i had adeno and a rare uterine infection. dr nicked my bladder due to my uterus and my bladder being adhered together so i came home with a cather for eleven days. that was th worst. after the cather came out i felt so much better. my recovery after that was so easy. at week three i was walking my three miles and at week four i asked dr if i could start using elipitcal. se thought i was crazy of course, but told me i could. no more then ten minutes a day and no resistance. so week four was my turning point. i had eight weeks off work due to i work in nursing and wanted to be strong again. after i got released from dr i went back to running the three miles and using light weights. make sure you check with your dr though. everybody's different. i use the vivelle dot patch .375 and dr just had me start premarin due to no feeling in my v-jay jay. hoping the nerves will regenerate. that's the most frustrating for me although it has gotten better. now this pain. i went and excerised earlier and didn't get it. i don't seem to get the pain when i use the elipitcal or weights, just when i'm running. guess the jolting has something to do with it. any other questions just ask. what did you have your hyster for? what kind? if you don't mind me asking.

Re: lower left ab pain five months post op

Sorry about your vj-j. I hope I don't have that problem. I'm staying away from that area for now since I'm so early on in this process. I had endo and I did have the laperoscopy done to cut out scar tissue (that was a few years ago). Dr. unstuck a bunch of things and a few years later all the pain came back. I got some really bad left sided pain that was waking me up in the middle of the night. I finally had a ct scan and it showed a mass on my left ovary with free fluid. Dr. and i finally decided it was time for the big H. The pain was too much and I wanted the mass out. I had a bunch of cysts (benign thank goodness) and fibroids and thickening of the uterus and who knows what else?? I work from home, so I've just been resting. I know I can walk, but I haven't been cleared to do anything else yet. I would imagine high impact activities would be painful for a while. It sounds like there's no stopping you I really would like to get back into exercise and weight lifting etc, but I'm a big chicken and will wait for the dr. to give me the ok. I had the abdominal kind of surgery, so me and you are probably different. I hope your left side pain goes away. I find it odd that I have that left side pain too. I wish I knew what it was!! What kind of nurse are you?? Take care!!
