2 weeks post op - no HRT yet

I am two weeks post op from losing my last ovary and hopefully the last time I will ever be cut open . 3rd times a charm they say!! I had a hysterectomy in '07 RSO in '09 and now LSO '11. Yeah me. Dr prescribed Oral Estradial she said I should start taking it about 5 days post op. However I haven't really had any symptoms so I have started taking it. I am wondering if I should just start anyway so my body doesn't actually go into menopause shock...thoughts please!

Re: 2 weeks post op - no HRT yet

I know when I had my ovaries removed I started having hot flashes right away and asked for something. You can either wait for symptoms or go ahead and take it.

Re: 2 weeks post op - no HRT yet

I never did get "classic" symptoms, no hot flashes or night sweats, but my skin got so dry I couldn't stand it and my libido dropped. It took three weeks on HRT for my skin to get better - my libido is just now coming back at four weeks. Do you have no symptoms or just not classic symptoms?
