Upcoming LAVH or TAH?

I have been reading many of your posts and with my upcoming hysterectomy, I thought it was time to join and share.

I have had abnormal paps for the last 15 years off and on (I am 33 yrs old now). Two years ago I had LGSIL, colpo and confirmed mild dysplasia. This lingered until a couple of months ago when I received a ASC-H on my recent pap. The colpo/biopsies showed CIN II and my LEEP turned up CIN III, CIS with glandular involvment and no clear margins (extending into endocervical canal?). I have 3 lovely children and had contemplated a 4th later on down the road but Dr. recomments Hyst. I also have high risk HPV.

I am comfortable with my decision to have the hyst, just anxious and nervous. We will try for LAVH but due to prior C-section (only one) I may have to get TAH. Has anyone with a prior C-sec gone on to have LAVH?

I've had 2 c-sections and the Dr's trying for vaginal too. Mine is 13 days away, so I'll let you know! I AM preparing myself for abdominal.

Yep LAVH scheduled for the 10th of Aug. Sooo freaking nervous.

I think the anxiety is going to eat me alive too. The waiting is the hardest part. ). Please let me know how you are when you feel up to it after your surgery.

Sure thing, when is your surgery?

Sept 6 tentatively. Dr office will confirm w hospital to reserve date & time Monday. Do you have to do bowel prep before surgery? I forgot to ask my dr about it.

What was your diagnosis? (If you want to share)

I'm not sure about the bowel prep. I go for pre-op on Thursday. Im sure I'll find out. I have a uterine fibroid and ovarian cysts. You?

CIS (stage 0 cervical cancer- recurrent) with glandular involvement. Had leep cone on 7/13/11. Dr recommends hyst because no clear margns & too high up in endocervical canal... Difficult to detect & can be more aggressive (adenocarcinoma in situ). The cancer has not become invasive yet, so getting rid of it once & for all.
