I am having horrible hot flashes, help!

I did fine on my herbal hormones for a couple months, now with the summer of heat in the southeast, almost 100 everyday, even with AC running, I'm miserable!

I'm taking Royal Maca, half of a Estroblend at night, Walmart's version, vitamin E, Evening Primrose Oil, Wild Yam, Wild Yam cream w/ progesterone-over the counter, I'm miserable.

I read that Royal Maca can make you have hot flashes like this if you are taking other herbs at the same time. Anyone know?

I've been into herbs and natural healing for years. I had my blood tested for Estrogen & Progesterone, I was about normal on Estrogen, and low on progesterone, so I am taking more herbs.

I'm ready to wave the white flag and go see my PC doc, who is a woman and I know understands. Please, any comments with people using herbs I would appreciate. I do not want to use estrogen more than I am, it makes me gain weight. So don't want RX estrogen, and like I said, it's about normal. I know more progesterone helps stop hot flashes, and I was praying evening primrose would help, I'm taking a ton of it a day.

Re: I am having horrible hot flashes, help!

Hi- I take something called Magic Maca HRT.....the main ingredient is Maca but also has other things to help balance hormones. I can tell it is a tincture and is probably the worst thing I've EVER put into my mouth, but I rarely have a hotflash- my libido is back to normal- and I'm a much happier person!! I only take one dropper in the morning- I tried taking more but didn't really see a difference. I'm sure it won't work this well for everyone, but for me it's all I take! Good Luck!

You might try increasing the amount of Vitamin E you're taking. One in the am, one at noon.

Re: I am having horrible hot flashes, help!

Thanks for both of your responses. Can you tell me what else is in the tincture? and mgs? I have everything, if I know the amount of mg I can use what I have.

I take one 400mg Vit E around 10am, and one at night before bed, so will try one around early afternoon. Thanks!

Anyone else?

I am having horrible hot flashes, help!

Maca HRT contains : maca root, wild yam, chaste berry, dandelion root, sarsaparilla, milky oat tops and straw, raspberry leaf, anise, vegetable glycerine, and 34-45% grain alcohol. It does not have the mgs on the bottle. I can tell you that is was very cheap- like under $15 for a months supply. As an added bonus it has cleared my cystic acne and my hair looks amazing!!!

Re: I am having horrible hot flashes, help!

Thanks so much, I will try it! I'm having the cystic acne also, it's awful! I will buy it. I'm working on my hair with iron, since I was almost anemic, and my hair is thin, and I started losing it

HUGS!

Re: I am having horrible hot flashes, help!

From what I have read on Maca, it is supposed to help balance out the entire body. It contains vitamins and amino acids....an if I'm not mistaken, it contains iron as well. I've only been taking it about 2 weeks and I've seen these changes this fast. I've read that you have to start very slowly and build up- which is why I'm only taking one dropperful. If taken too much too fast it can cause tummy upset and insomnia- learned that th hard way!! Google the name- it is all very interesting to read!!

Yes, I've read about it, been taking if now in pill form for a few months, it is interesting where it grows, etc.

Buying some now, thanks!

Re: I am having horrible hot flashes, help!

What is your Vitamin B intake like? The only major hot flash I had was when I stopped taking my Vitamin B complex for a while.Just my own experience.

Re: I am having horrible hot flashes, help!

I take B complex everyday, and B6 supplement also. I take so many herbs and supplements a day it's crazy! But I have helped my heart, allergies, muscle pain, and other things!
