Emotional wreck!!

Hi i just wondered if anyone else feels the same as i do??
I was on a drug called Zoladex prior to surgery as i had endo on my bowel. The Zoladex put me through an artificial change for 4 months - hot flushes, Irritabilty etc, I had my surgery 2 weeks ago and ended up having a full hysterectomy and bowel surgery, I have been put on HRT but am now getting the worse hot flushes ever, headaches, depressed, crying and generally being a complete cow to anyone who comes near me. My husband said he would rather scrape a rotweillers teeth than talk to me at the moment!!! nice touch eh!!. Will this go away and is it normal - I also have a post op infection - Help.

Re: Emotional wreck!!

Oh the joys of menopause...How long have you been on HRT? They do take awhile before your body gets the full affect from them (so I was told by my Dr.) I've been on mine for 3 weeks now and seeing relief from hot flashes and night sweats but the headaches, body aches and insomnia are about to drive me insane. As with you it is affected every aspect of my life including my family. My only advise is to inform your Dr. about how you feel and maybe there is something different they can give you. We are early in this menopause stuff and at the same time our bodies are trying to heal from major surgery so it makes it pretty hard. After reading many posts on here I am going to try all the vitimans that have been suggested as I take none right now. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

Re: Emotional wreck!!

Tracy gave you good advice - I would also give my doctor a call and let her/him know.

The emotional stuff was the worst for me too, I'm not normally so emotional. Know that you aren't alone!

I talked to my pharmacist the other day and she told me to try One A Day for women in menopause. I've been taking it 3 days now and I did notice I had more energy today then I have had and I wasn't as achy. I have to think it's because of the vitamins, but I'll take a good day no matter what the reason. Give them a try and see if they help. Good luck too you.
