Re: scared who else?

Ladies,I had my TVH on July 7 for adenomyosis.I am a little over 7 weeks post op.I will tell you that waiting was the hardest part for me.My biggest issue post op was a bladder infection which is very common post op.

I had no quality of life before my surgery.I was afraid to leave my house due to the amount of bleeding and pain I was having on a daily basis.I had to take pain meds everyday or I couldn't get out of bed.

Since my hyster,I have been able to do things with my kids that I hadn't been able to do in years.I am off all pain meds.Besides an ovarian cyst,I have no more issues,no more pads,no more staying home because "aunt flo" came to visit.

Ladies I wish you all the best during your upcoming surgeries and during your recoveries.

Re: scared who else?

Mine is Tuesday ... and I'm scared, too. But every time I get really nervous I start to have some of my "horrible" symptoms that led me to this decision. I think it's God's way of reminding me it's the right choice.

I'm trying to focus on what I can do -- make a timetable of when to stop eating, pack my bag (not forget chapstick), make list of who I have to send thank you notes to, clean, clean, clean etc. The other stuff I can't control - the doctors and the Lord have to take care of that.

But I'm still nervously short of breath - lol! As I pray about my nerves, I'll be praying for you, too. Hang in there. We can celebrate when we're both on the other side of this!

I am the same way. I am actually having a TAH with a T cut but I just keep trying to tell Satan to get away when I have these awful thoughts. Today, I rented a Rug Doctor and shampooed every carpet in the house. LOL I am trying to get things done and keep myself occupied at the same time. I, too, have the bad day with pain and the cramping etc. when I think...I am going to cancel the surgery. I just have to trust God that it will be okay!

Re: scared who else?

What you are all feeling is perfectly normal, I felt the same way before my TAH. the good news is that I now feel fantastic, no more pain and lots more energy. I didn't know what to expect after surgery as far as pain goes and was quite surprised, once I got out of hospital I took pain relief for the first two nights as it was hard to get comfortable. I have now realised that the pain and discomfort I was in before surgery far out weighed the post op pain. Good luck ladies it will all be worth it and just remember any questions no matter how silly they sound post on post op discussion and you will be pleasantly surprised at the responses you get back.

Re: scared who else?

I'm scheduled for September 13 and I am feeling the same as all of you. I keep thinking of all the things that could go wrong. I am so glad that I am not the only one feeling like this.

Re: scared who else?

I had mine Aug 12th and I agree the worst part was the waiting, the unknown, the worrying about every little thing before the surgery!

I'm 17 days post op. I had very little spotting when I woke up. I think the hardest thing since the surgery is sitting with my feet up healing without doing too much! I feel great. A little sore some days from over doing it but great over all.

The worrying is normal. Nothing anyone says will take it away but know you aren't alone in your thoughts. We all went through it and made out ok on the flip side!

Good Luck with your surgery and don't forget you only get 1 chance to heal so take it easy and follow the docs orders!!!!

Re: scared who else?

I feel the same way mine is scheduled sept 9 and I am so nervous. One of my issues is if I'm even ready I am 28 years old with one beautiful boy and I can't help to think if I'm really finished having children.

Re: scared who else?

I had daVinci done on Friday and I feel fantastic! I was a wreck the 2 weeks before surgery. It was awful. Honestly, the anticipation, worry and prep were way worse than the surgery. I have had little to no pain, even in recovery, it wasn't horrible and easily managed with meds. I have had more pain from gas than the surgery. I wish you all the best. What you are going through is completely normal!
