Everything is going!

The doc said they're taking everything. I'm scared and very sad.

Re: Everything is going!

I'm sorry. :-( I got the same news last week (though she gave me the choice to just "live with it") and I am finding the grieving process is hitting me hard, too. I think the best we can do is educate ourselves and try to remain positive, hard as that may be! Just know you are not alone!

Re: Everything is going!

I know how that feels. I had my "breakdown" about this time 2 weeks ago. Things are harder in the late night/early morning hours. I'm here to listen .... Anything else you want to share?

Re: Everything is going!

Adiasi - I too am losing everything in about 7 hours time.... but probably I am a lot older than you so it is not such a loss.

(And I may have a cancerous tumour, so I accept that I have to lose everything).
I am sad for you! But we will come out OK on the other side, and no doubt we both had no choice!

Re: Everything is going!

Why are they taking everything? If it is something you can live with and not causing your quality of life or life threatening I would tell them to atleast leave 1 ovary, but I dont know your situation.

Re: Everything is going!

Thank you for everyones reply. In the day hours I am ok, however, like Gloriame, the night and very early hours are bad. I don't sleep and when I do, I dream and I cry in my sleep.

I was stumped when I learned. I asked and my doctor's ***'t replied "EVERYTHING - the uterus, the ovaries, the cervix, the fallopian tubes, everything." Then she stared at me blankly. My boyfriend asked her if there was a support group or some sort of after care and she said no. He stated he was surprised because he would think women would feel like they were losing a part of themselves and there is emotional damage. Her reply was "these patients are happy to be alive. Take it or have bigger problems". She then asked if there were more questions, they are very busy. My boyfriend was angry and I was stunned. We left. Am I being overly sensitive or was she extremely cold?

Re: Everything is going!

Fashionablyme - Through a D&C, Hysterscopy and Polypectomy, cancer was found. The way it was explained to me is the cancer developed because I have PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). If I keep anything the cancer can develop again. In addition, I will not be placed on HRT because the cancer was caused by hormones. HRT could also bring the cancer back.
