Re: Everything is going!

Wow that is cold. Are you sure you want to use this doctor? My doctor is very caring and attentive, and he is making sure I have surgery no matter my financial situation. I spent 6 years with this problem with no help, and turned away time after time until I met him. He is a true blessing. You deserve the same. A doctor who cares. I'm sorry that you have cancer, and I hope the best for you. Don't think for a second you are overly sensitive, that actually makes me angry to read that. Especially since she herself is a woman.

Re: Everything is going!

Dear Adiasi, MrsAllnut, Acey - I am so sorry for your news. We are here for you, we are your support. I had my surgery for Endometrial cancer on 8/10. And like you have lost cervix, uterus, tubes & ovaries. And it is a loss. I had excellent final results - no chemo, no radiation and a 5% recurrence rate. I was so relieved; but there still is the loss - I totally understand how you feel. My Mom is awesome; have 4 awesome sisters - all very supportive, but they just don't understand the loss. I felt it was ok for me to grieve the loss, and then I try to focus on the positives. Things I am thankful for are what get me through.
Acey I will say prayers for you today. Let me know how you are doing in a couple of days. Adiasi and MrsAllnut hang in there, read as much as you can. This site is awesome. (((Hugs))) to all you!

Re: Everything is going!

You know, it's funny. Both doctors told me I would have to lose everything, but the second doctor told me in such a caring, explanatory way that I felt much more comfortable with her. It's all a matter of how they present it, I guess.
I'm sorry about the cancer; that just sucks. I know she's taking my old ovaries because she wants to reduce my risk of ovarian cancer later (may run in the family). I'm still in shock over the whole thing. Maybe you do need another doctor. If you aren't comfortable with her, it may affect your healing process.
Nights ARE the worst, aren't they? I've taken to a sleep aid just so I can stay asleep instead of waking up crying in the night. (Yes, checking with my surgeon to make sure that's okay.) I go between "Let's get this over with now" to "Oh Lord, what have I done?"
Hugs to all of you this morning. Funny how the sun rising can make things just a little less scary.

Re: Everything is going!

Hi Fashionably: She is not my doctor, she is his assistant. He was in surgery at the time of my appointment. He is very compassionate. He is also considered an expert in laproscopic surgery.

Re: Everything is going!

Well I know you are sad and have a right to your feelings but I would have to agree with the doctor after you just posted. You will get through this. Take care.

Re: Everything is going!

Adiasi -- I'll be available again tonight if you need me. (I'll try really hard to stay up late!) Wish I could give you my phone number. When I "lost it" late one night, I just HAD to call someone to talk me off of the edge of the ledge of the bridge. The only person available was my mom, who usually is very insensitive. But I think my hysterical crying scared her enough to really listen to me and to reassure me that everything would be okay. Anyway, I and the other HysterSisters are here for you. (((HUGS)))
