Re: September 9th surgeries...raise your hand.

Lucky ladies...no bowel prep. I have to. Nothing solid to eat after mid-night Wed night. Clear liquid diet with bowel prep all day Fri. Kinda sounds redundant to me. Haha. I have to do it because she wants my bowels as far out of the way as possible. I have endo all over so she wants to make sure she doesn't nick anything. I only have one ovary left from previous surgeries. That will come out as well as my uterus and cervix. After 5 1/2 years of ovarian cysts and endo I hope this will be the end of all the pain. I'm a Zumba instructor and had to push off some of my classes and am hoping to get back to it in 6 weeks. My doc said if I had an office job I could go back in 4 weeks but doing what I do I have to give it more time. Luckily the ladies that take my classes are very understanding and want me back asap even if I direct them from a chair. Haha.
I just ready to get this surgery done. I go to bed thinking about it and wake up thinking about it. Mostly the unkowns. I've never been this consumed with anything before. Not even giving birth. My surgery is sched for 1:30 on Fri. I have to be there at noon.
I also have an ebook. I have the Sony eReader and could not imagine life without it. I'm a self-indulgent reader and love the Anita Blake series. Also Kim Harrison's Rachel Morgan series.

Re: September 9th surgeries...raise your hand.

@hollie.. I'm so with u on going to bed thinking about it and waking up the same way. I've had surgery before.. twice.. but by far this is the scariest! I don't know why I'm so nervous. I've prayed.. even had my meltdown moment already.. I have a wonderful support system too...maybe it has something to do with being older now.. I was in my early 20s when I had my last surgery.. it was a tubal... best of luck to u!

Re: September 9th surgeries...raise your hand.

I love hearing these replies. It's like a comfort when I start feeling scared, I turn on my computer and see replies in this thread and know I'm not alone in this.

It's nice that so many of you have had your pre-op already. Mine is tomorrow morning.

Hollie, that's cool that you are a zumba instructor. I love Zumba! I'm going to miss running and yoga during recovery. I hope I can stay still enough to heal. At least I also love reading and watching movies.

I'm like you, I'm not sure anything has consumed me like this before, and I'm not even sure why I feel this way. I guess because my uterus has been one of the main characters in my life since I was a kid. It has given me the best gifts and caused me the most trouble. It's part of who I am. I'm not sorry to be saying good bye to it, but something inside me knows that it is a big deal to be without this defining organ, and it's all I can think about. Part of me will have to be redefined after this surgery.

I'm so glad we have this thread! Good luck to us all the next few days!

By the way, Houston 40, are you from Houston? I went to high school there. I lived in Katy. It was a great place to be a teenager.

Re: September 9th surgeries...raise your hand.

Hey ladies I need some help my sister hasn't been very supportive throughout this and now she is saying she is going to stay the night Thursday. And I really don't want her to but she is the type of person that gets her feeling hurt and then she acts like a total ***** sorry for that but it's true. How can I get out of this I'm already stressed enough and I really don't need this on top of it please any advise is greatly appreciated.
