Re: To Keep the Cervix or not??

When I originally was scheduled to have a hysterectomy, the plan was to keep my cervix. I ended up with a cervical cuff instead--due to the doctor's thoughts on the subject, not wanting to get another doctor, I would be the person who would have mini periods, etc. It was a good decision for me, as they found polyps, along with all the fibroids that were everywhere. This is the first time in many months I've been on this site, as I've just really gotten on with my life. I can tell you all of my fears about having my hysterectomy haven't come true. I am happy, healthy, more active than I was before--I absolutely LOVE not having anymore periods! All those years of the pain, and horrendous bleeding, along with the adenomyosis pain are GONE! Good luck to you with your decision, whether you keep your cervix or not. For me, it has never been an issue to not have it. I have felt wonderful since my hysterectomy. Wishing you all the same!
