Fibroids can grow on ovaries. When I was 20 yrs old, I had surgery to remove a fibroid tumor from my left ovary. The dr ended up taking the ovary and fallopian tube as well. When I had my hysterectomy two weeks ago, the dr wasen't able to take the remaining ovary because of endometriosis. He also left my cervix

Honestly, there is simply no way a doctor could sit down and go over every single possible side effect of a hysterectomy or share every single odd outcome that could occur. You and your doctor would be talking for hours, if not days! So in general, a doctor will share the more common side effects and outcomes and leave it at that. The consent forum one signs may include more risks than the doctor shares verbally.
