Re: Husbands/Significant Others being supportive?

Thank you everyone for your responses and advice. I pretty much told him last Tuesday that he either step up to the plate, or he didn't need to be here at all. On Thursday I had my appt with the uro/gynecologist and she said I have a rectocele, cystocele and a uterine prolapse and that I definitely need surgery. The MRI of my pelvis showed my bladder was abnormal so tomorrow I go back for a cystoscope. I'm afraid she's looking for bladder cancer. She said she needs to get a look inside my bladder before she does surgery so there aren't any surprises when she gets in there. So after the test tomorrow, we will schedule my surgery and she does the davinci and we already talked about using mesh to fix the prolapses and she wanted to and I didn't and we discussed it and agreed not to use it. My husband is a truck driver and gone during the week so I sent him some links of the letters to husbands on the mister's site. I didn't know if he would read them but then Thursday night we were chatting on Facebook and he told me he had read them and that now he understands that its a major surgery and that I'm going to need time and help to recover. He said we just need to communicate because he can't read my mind and that if I need something to just ask and he'll be more than happy to do it. I'm so relieved! It's like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I really think I'm going to be able to count on him! So thank you everyone for your kind words and encouragement. There's hope for him yet!
