Hiya Paula,
Sp glad to hear from you! It is wonderful that all went so well and that you got rid of that darn catheter.
Now you know, you should be resting, resting, resting. Even if you feel better........take advantage of the resting. Don't over do it.

wondering how you are doing with the rad hyst

Hi guys, this is a response to an old post but I am going nuts because I had an omenectomy and now 2 months out am still messed up. I was wondering how your recovery went (hopefully welllllll). Pls give me some input for my sanity. Thanks. Judymk

Hi Judy,

Sorry to hear you're still having problems. I'm a little over 2 years post op.

I'm doing fine except for continuing bladder problems. I've been diagnosed with a hyponeurogenic bladder. The nerves that were cut around the bladder area have never healed themselves, and I have to self-cath most of the time.

I've since found out from my urologist that this is a common side effect of a radical hysterectomy.

Hi Judymk

Ya know- I was sure I would never be the same. I took for granted what it felt like to be normal.
I asked a bunch of questions at my follow-ups and called the nurses in between when I was having to take DEEP breaths just to get thru going tinkle!
You are only 8 weeks out-- I know it takes at least 12 they say, to be "recovered". But every body is different.
You may want to check in with the dr.'s office if you think something is not right.

Good luck to you! I know it is hard- but it will only get better from here
