Re: Does a day go by...

Not a one where I don't talk about it!

Women need as much help and support as we can get about this! Too often, our suffering is swept under the rug! NO MORE!

My DH has been wonderful about it...as has my family and friends! So much support...and we have it here, 24/7!

Re: Does a day go by...

You bet! My surgeon asked my DH at the pre op if he had any questions and he laughingly told her that he'd read the literature, he had no choice because I insisted on shoving under his nose, lol! He's been decent about though, I must say, and most people have been super supportive. I agree, it's not something we should have to drop into a whisper to say.
My best friend was so cute. She said "Is it wrong of me to be excited for you? I'll just be so happy to see you out of pain after so long!" Wow. I still get chills!

Re: Does a day go by...

I join all of you in worrying about my upcoming surgery- having the total hysterectomy with all- and scared to death. Husband is worrying about me and freaked out when I fell today- major pain to stomach and could hardly get up. They diagnosed me with "at least acute atypical hyperplasia" on biopsy from D and C- yeah- second surgery in two months- and now after finding out only two weeks ago- in a week I will be in the surgery room. Sept 21st can not get here fast enough- I am tired of hurting and feeling like crap all of the time. I hate losing my "uterus and friends"- but if a painfree life is the result- I will take it.

Re: Does a day go by...

Do you know the expression "Do not judge until you have walked a mile in another's shoes" or something like that. Well it is true unless you are going through it some people have a difficult time understanding especially men. I find reading things on this site helpful although at times it scares me more than I need to be but in general a very helpful place to come to. Well take care and I wish you all the best.

We are hysto sisters I am also scheduled for the 21st. I think we need to get our husbands together, mine is also freaked out. This morning he said "if I'm frustrated and have a million questions I could not imagine what is going through your head". I'm with you the 21st can't get here fast enough I never imagined that I would have to deal with pain and feeling like crap on a daily basis. But it is time to silence the "gremlin and her friends" best of luck on your surgery.

Keep the lines of communication open and laugh as much as possible.

Re: Does a day go by...

A day? Holy cow, how about an hour or five minutes. It is on my mind from the time I wake up until the time I go to bed! Maybe not full-out-thinking-about-it, but it always lurking around in the back of my mind.

Re: Does a day go by...

Almost any few moments after not thinking about my surgery were spent thinking, "wow that was weird: I didn't think about surgery."
