Is this Menopause???

I had a partial histerectomy in 2001 at 35, since then was prescribed anti depressant (not related) which I recently stopped. I have been experiencing anger and sadness - not sure if this could be the menopause as mysaid that each woman has different symptoms, is it ME or is it stopping the meds? Anyone else feel this way?

Re: Is this Menopause???

Probably both.

Anxiety and depression can be symptoms of menopause. The antidepressant would help alleviate symptoms. Every woman is affected differently...some have just hot flashes and feel fine mentally...where as some feel menopause more on an emotional level....and then there are some that have every symptom out there!! lol My biggest clear cut menopausal symptom (low estrogen) is intense sadness.
There is a very good book called Hormones and the Mind by Edward Klaiber MD. It is a great resource book on the connection between hormones and mood. Helped me figure out what I needed. I got my book on Amazon Used Books for 1 cent! Best investment ever!!
