Re: Newbie seeking support

HersheyKiss, I had the same diagnosis as you and had my hysterectomy on July 18 ... 8 week anniversary tomorrow!

It's normal to be afraid. No matter how often I heard that this cancer at this stage is successfully treated with surgery, I still worried about the unknown. Until I got pathology report, I was anxious about what else they'd find. However, the good news is that surgery DID take care of it and I am cancer free.

Stay strong, hang in. Cheers.

Re: Newbie seeking support

You are not the only one scared- my total hysterectomy with ovaries (ok, dont know all the names yet for that) is scheduled for the 21st of september- and I just a D and C and two cysts removed August 16th- so needless to say I am sick of hospitals. Good luck and hoping the best.

Re: Newbie seeking support

Hi HK. Like you, i had not had surgery before. I was a bag of nerves. I faint when having a blood test so was totally freaking about my TAH surgery on 5 Sept. But you know what? Here I am 8 days later and I can honestly say I have not felt any 'pain' yet. Most discomfort I've felt is from when I sneezed or coughed! I had absolutely NO post surgical pain. I was hooked up to the PCA morphine pump bit never used it
I just didn't need it. I have only had paracetamol 6 hourly to stay on top of it all. I know not everyone experiences the same pain. But I'm not superwoman either! My theory is that I have 5 teenagers so I have acquired a great tolerance for pain!! Haha. Anyway i just want to encourage you to relax and accept that this is something that is going to transform your life in a really positive way. Embrace it! You are going to be absolutely fine and dandy, happy and fulfilled, and full of the joys of life! So say I. Much love, Lisa xo
