Little nervous

I am scheduled for a hysterectomy, I am unsure how it will effect my personal life ie. energy level, sex drive, mood in general. I have been suffering from endo for years. Hoping the hysterectomy will help because all other options have failed. If anyone has any helpful tips it would be much appreciated.

Re: Little nervous

Hello shaps! I just had surgery on the 7th..home recovering now. I can't tell you how i will feel down the line in the long run ALTHOUGH, my ob/gyn is very very confident that i will feel so much better, I had everything removed...LAVH/BSO. I was worried about having ovaries removed...thought i would wake up and by 80 years old or something...the surgery is not bad, a lot easier than i thought. My mood is better already...they put a estrogen patch on me after surgery. I just thought i would pass along what my dr told me...that i will feel so much better after having a hysterectomy. good luck to you!

Re: Little nervous

Thank you so much that makes me feel a little bit more calm. The way my previous doc acted about doing a hysterectomy was like I was going to be confined to bed for 6 weeks and never regain my youthful bounce.

Re: Little nervous

I'm sorry your Dr made u feel that way! I felt that way on my own, but my Dr was so confident and didn't make it a huge deal it made me feel better. I think u will be relieved when its over...the surgery is not as bad as u think. It helps to have nice nurses and a nice Dr. I pray you'll be happy with the care u receive. I was a MESS, a total MESS....worry worry, I've been there. Take care
