Re: Positive outcomes from vaginal mesh removal

Thanks for responding back to me re: removal of Vaginal Sling. I am in Michigan and have reviewed the DR list on this website. I live in Florida, but had my surgery done 4 weeks ago in Royal Oak, Michigan. First two weeks after surgery were fine - - just minor irritation. Week three started with feeling of tightness when sitting upright. Felt like a pinch. Now I can't sit upright for more than a few minutes without feeling the pinching. Lower back pain is extreme. I'm frightened after reading all the blogs on this website. I have an appt with my urologist this week, but am thinking that I want it removed unless it's 100% better very soon. Any suggestions for successful removal would be appreciated. I'm willing to travel - - Mayo Clinic, Univ of Michigan, etc. Also interested to learn of any similar symptoms.

Re: Positive outcomes from vaginal mesh removal

i am not an Md but when I read the report of my tvt that wasput in in 2005 the urologist noted he wouldnot make it too tight
Maybe yours is just a bit tight to be causing that pain.
From what I have read everywhere the URO GYN is the Md to see for these cases.

Good luck I will post how I do after my removal surgery

Re: Positive outcomes from vaginal mesh removal

Hi Graceanne,

I had my mesh removed at UCLA. He has removed over 10,000 meshes gone bad. If I can answer anything for you please don't hesitate to post. I am so sorry for your problems.
