No Date Yet but a Time Limit

Hi,
I just came back from another appointment with my gyno and I now have the forms to hand into the hospital, it says on them to be done within 365 days.
Dr said the he will remove uterus, cervix and try and keep an ovary, but with my past, it is a wait and see how it looks inside thing he said.
He is also putting a sling on my urethra for my incontinence.
So 2 birds one stone, can't wait but cried as he filled out the forms.
It has taken so many years for me to be ready to agree to this and now a wait.
But I have done it now.
I will be on hear and support others as much as I can and need some aswell.
I am very glad I found your site.
Thank you so much to all of you and take care

Re: No Date Yet but a Time Limit

This is a wonderful place for support, I've been here almost 8 months as I've waited for my date to crawl nearer and it has finally arrived. Take this time to ask the questions you need and to physically prepare yourself. The better shape that you are in come surgery, the better you heal afterwards.

I wish you all the best & hope that you are given a date soon.

Re: No Date Yet but a Time Limit

Hi,
I waited almost 3 1/2 months for my surgery date. Finally, it will be here in 2 weeks (sep 28). I kept super busy. I made a daily check list and followed it no matter how I felt. I walked 2 times a day, did core exercises, kegel exercises, changed how I ate, lost 10 lbs., visited family, listened to stress reduction music, researched and practiced different types of meditation and stress reduction, watched utube videos to assist my research, asked questions on the forum and made lists for groceries, meals, questions for oncologist/surgeon, recovery needs.

Now I'm 2 weeks out and I am working on fall yard work, organizing my grocery lists and recovery needs, plus, finalizing my surgery questions. I have my pre-op appointments next week, will be making that big run to the grocery store and cleaning my house.

I am finally having a little trouble sleeping at night, but am giving myself permission to do whatever I need to take care of myself.

I feel confident in the success of my surgery and recovery and am happy that I had the time to prepare.

Best of Luck,
goldenlife
