Pre-Op Gyn Visit

Getting so excited and looking forward to my surgery next week! I was to have had my pre-op with both my Gyn and with the hospital today but a scheduling snafu delayed the hospital one until tomorrow.

I did get an unexpected pap today as it was discovered my former Gyn never sent off my pap this year and evidently never got the results of my test from last year (even though I was told my results were "normal"). I'm a little anxious about the results as I've had quite a deal of bleeding, clotting and pain afterward and have never had this before except during the time I had significant dysplasia. However if there is a problem found I know now is the time to plan for any necessary accommodations in surgery.

I was thrilled to find out that my doctor is going to make a video for me. I asked if he would have pictures to show me and he said he could. I, half jokingly, said, "it's just to bad I couldn't be awake to observe." He said, "I can make you a video." He said I'll just need to remind him at the hospital before surgery. I plan on telling him, "Don't forget because I'd hate to have to make you put everything back and start all over again to get it on video!"

I've had a rough few days. I just had what should be my last period and evidently have gotten quite anemic. Been real dizzy, constant headache, tachy, short-of-breath I'm sure a lot of you can relate. I told the doctor it was only ten days this time so I was surprised I was feeling so badly and he laughed. Which made me laugh too. I've been so anemic for so long he said I won't believe how different my life will be and I'l bet he's right.

I need to ask mine about a video also. That's so cool!

Re: Pre-Op Gyn Visit

I know. I was so surprised! We sounded like a couple of high school geeks walking down the hall at this office talking about how cool it would be to watch my own surgery. LOL

I'll have to edit it and ad annotations and upload it to YouTube. And put a link in my signature when it's ready. If they'll let me do that. I'll have to check the rules.

It's husband watches the goriest movies that I can't stand to watch but he won't even think about watching one of the the da Vinci videos. I told him that I"ll pick one with 5mls blood loss and he says, "Nope, won't do it!"

I've watched every kind of hyster surgery they do and was surpised that the total vaginal ones were the ones that looked most brutal to me. Maybe it's because I have the prolapse and it just looks so painful because I imagine if my prolapse hurts so bad what it would be like to have it laying all the way out there! LOL

I told my husband yesterday that after the surgery I can finally get a whole new wardrobe. I reminded him that EVERTHING I own is stained because of my menorhagia. He said I absolutely can! Now all I have to do is lose some weight!!!

Re: Pre-Op Gyn Visit

You'll have to come to Tulsa to shop! Or maybe the outlet mall in Ok City.

I didn't know there were surgeries on YouTube! How did you find them? Are they genuine surgeries? What don't they have on YouTube?

I too have prolapse problems. Feels like am sitting in something squishy and it goes back up. Such graphic details we ladies give out!LOL
