8 days out and concerned

Hello out there I am 8 days out from my LAVH and the nightmares and second guessing has started. I have had no sex drive for about two years due to pain and being tierd and now my ovaries are gonna go bye bye what does a woman do? Will I ever enjoy sex again? Me and my husband use to have a great sex life and I want it back!!! (by the way so does he). Any suggestions out there?

Re: 8 days out and concerned

I had my LAVH on the 11th of July and now that I'm 9 weeks out I realize for me it was the best decision I could have made. I didn't think that way 4 weeks ago when I was going thru the hormone thing, but now that is under control and I feel so much better and I am pleased to say our sex life is great. So yes, you will be able to enjoy a good sex life again. The first few times it was uncomfortable (make sure to have lubrication on hand) but the discomfort fades and it will be fine.

Good luck

Shaps, understood. Just keep talking - because someone here has answers for you. The rest of us are willing to be a sounding board. Hang in there!

NYyankeelover, may I please ask, when you say "going thru the hormone thing" did you go cold turkey - or are you taking HRT & if so how long did it take to get leveled out? God bless you for sharing!

Re: 8 days out and concerned

Hbee, I am taking HRT. It took about 7 weeks. As I stated the premarin did nothing but once I started the patch I started to notice the difference. 9 weeks out and I feel great. No more hot flashes, no night sweats, no insomnia and no depression.

Hope that helped
