Uterus acting out!

I'm having TAH for a partial fibroid (long story involving UAE) and foreign body rejection from the PVC.
I had my preop today and I pegged my pain at a 5 out of 10. I asked the doctor what she thought was going on; since we agreed to a hysterectomy, my uterus has been so crampy and spasming. It feels like I have a 10-pound bowling ball in there and it's bearing down and creating lower body pain. She didn't do an exam because my PTSD kicks in in the exam rooms (only a man would design a room where the exam table points toward the door) but suggested my uterus is acting out, knowing it's going to be removed next week.
I know she was gently teasing me, but I wondered, has anyone else experienced this? Maybe there's more going on in there but I wonder now if I'm experiencing a psychosomatic reaction? Hmmm.

Re: Uterus acting out!

I think your uterus is getting the last few words in before you get rid of it and silence it forever. I know mine is!!!

Re: Uterus acting out!

Our surgeries are the same day. I have had a 22 day period this time...mostly the worst was the first 12 days but then last week, I had something come out of me overnight that I had never seen. It was disgusting. I called the doc and she said it was a reaction to the birth control they put me on for the bleeding. Now, I have a cold and I am sure it is my body just reacting to the stress of everything. I have not had a cold in over 2 years and one week before my surgery, I wake with one. I had my preop today too and she did not seem too concerned about it. She said, we will see how it goes and how I feel on Monday but I am praying it just goes away so my body is strong for surgery.

Re: Uterus acting out!

Oh yes, I understand that fear. The waiting has been the hardest part; I have been hand sanitizing and staying away from anyone who coughs.
I sympathize with the "disgusting" thing, I had a fibroid that was supposed to be "reabsorbed into the uterine lining" and instead became necrotic, then became septic. Let's just say, I expect my surgeon is going to find the old girl is on life support and waiting for her to pull the plug.
Are you aware that Monday is International Talk Like a Pirate day? I told my surgeon about it and she promised to take off her eye patch while she does the surgery.

Re: Uterus acting out!

I know mine is trying to have one last shebang befor she leaves in less than 48 hours. I really want to get my cleaning done and instead I'm laying back down due to cramping. I think she found the eviction notice.

I can honestly say, I had no idea it was talk like a pirate day. LOL I guess instead of grunting in pain afterward, we will have to say ARGH matey!

LOL on the fibroid on life support. I am praying I can still have my surgery so I can be done with this...I am ready to get it over with.

Re: Uterus acting out!

Amen! I am looking forward to Monday, myself, even though I know the pain will be great, I'll know it is finite. What I have now is never ending and no hope of ever stopping.
