I was told I will go home the same day!

Is that normal? I thought at least one night was required because of the type of procedure it is! I'm not very happy about this!

Re: I was told I will go home the same day!

I went home the same day. I went into OR at 8am and was home by 5pm. I was nervous about it beforehand but I'm really glad I was able to come home. There wasn't a lot of pain and I was definitely more relaxed and rested better at home in my own bed!

Oh ok! Maybe I'm over reacting....the only problem is I have stairs! LOL...so I am gonna have to set up shop downstairs which means I can't rest like I want to when the kids are home from school!

Your procedure date was also on my 33rd bday!

I have stairs in my house, too. Honestly, they weren't a problem. I was able to go up and down pretty easily.

I celebrated your birthday by having surgery! Hmmm....LOL

Ok I was worried about that too! The stairs...may be good with the gas pain issue as well!

Re: I was told I will go home the same day!

Getting up and moving definitely helps with the gas pains. It helps with the surgical pain, too. My hubby went back to work the day after my surgery and I was home alone with our 5 kids. I took it a little easy that first week...took a few afternoon naps But, I was up and moving...cooking, light housework, driving and running errands....it felt good to be up and about.

Re: I was told I will go home the same day!

Oh ok! My husband took off 2 weeks because we didn't know and I'm having a LSH...my oldest son is 15 and LOVES to help out....so I think being home alone thru the day is good and having them here after school to help is better! Thanks so much!

My oldest is 15, too! He's a big help around the house. I think having your husband off work will be a huge help to you!
