17 hours to go...

... and I'm actually feeling rather calm about all of this. After all the stress and freaking out I've done in the past week, I'm back to feeling calm. For right now. I doupt I'll sleep tonight... and I start my bowl prep in about 2 hours, but I feel good right now.

I looked around my apartment and just shrugged. It's not as clean as I'd like it. I don't feel as freaked out as I thought I would.

But I'm having a heck of a time concentrating on anything. I keep getting distracted, or staring off into space.

Re: 17 hours to go...

I think a lot of us felt that way once we got "down to the wire". A lot of stress, tears, running around and organizing... and then the night before a distracted, unfocussed sort of calm. I hope you sleep well tonight and I wish you a safe surgery and recovery. We'll be waiting for you on the other side :-)

Re: 17 hours to go...

I wonder if I will feel the same way. After finding out my date over a month ago and still having two weeks to go to surgery I haven't been able to focus on anything either. Hope your surgery goes well. Good luck!

Re: 17 hours to go...

Thank you. Only a few hours now and even though I still feel calm, I can't sleep. I leave the house in just over 3 hours. I'm reading and watching a movie to pass the time. Of course my DH is sleeping like a log. And I want a glass of water so bad.

Re: 17 hours to go...

When you get in, you'll get fluids in your I.V so you won't have that awful thirst. And heck, you've got a nice long nap in front of you as well, so no worries on the sleeplessness front.

Sounds like you're doing a perfect job of getting there! You're so close to done with the worst parts.

Best wishes to you!
