Re: Anything I can do to prepare my body?

Exercise. Get into the best shape you possibly can. I was walking 10 to 12 km daily (still doing that) so I was in pretty good shape for the surgery. My recovery was excellent and I think a good part of it was following my doctor's instructions to a tee but the other part was me going into this in really great shape.

Re: Anything I can do to prepare my body?

It gets to be a habit. I have a best friend who is an exercise nut (She usually does 4 classes a day - 2 in the am, 1 at lunch and one at night) who walks with me every night. And to add to the amazement, she is 63 years old! Making a daily date with her has kept me motivated for the last 2 and half years. I am down a total of 45 lbs since I started. I have one more pound to go for my first goal and then I would like to maybe lose another 10. Like I said, I am positive that being in good shape allowed me to have an excellent recovery.

Re: Anything I can do to prepare my body?

Exercise has always helped my health so I am making sure to do some form every day. I also have Celiac disease so eating right and well is super important also.
