Bellly band for TVH?

I am having a TVH with some corrective surgery in a month. Do people having this surgery use belly bands? I know that some people with LAHs find them very helpful.

Re: Bellly band for TVH?

I had a TVH and felt no need for a band, but I have read on here where other ladies did use and like one. So I guess it's personal preference, I do think you will probably do fine without.

Re: Bellly band for TVH?

I agree, it's a personal choice. I also did not have a belly band with my TVH & I made out just fine. I actually found it quite uncomfortable with anything pushing on my stomach area & was much better off with loose pants with drawstrings.

Good Luck with your surgery!

Re: Bellly band for TVH?

I am 6 months post op and had a belly band that was a LIFESAVER FOR ME. I didnt wear it at first but I loved it when I could stick an ice pack in there or heat pad. It made walking and getting up and down so much more comfortable and gross to say, but with the awesome gas-ex it made the gas pains go soooo much quicker and pass sooner. I loved mine and wore it for weeks! I still use it occasionally for back or belly pain and would highly reccomend it. I got 2--different brands--the first was a bit too stiff at first and the other softer. Bout at local retail pharmacy and walmart. I loved it--like an ace bandage for strain or sprain--good support for my loose belly. You may ask pharmacist to try on on before you buy.--sizes not always true to box.
