Re: Prolapse/rectocele/cystocele

I second what Jewel said and am happy I had it done. I had TVH, A&P repair and on top of that they threw in a bladder sling! I was stitched top, front, back, and bottom. I am 4 months post-op and feel fine.
The best advice that you are hearing from us post-oppers is TAKE IT EASY. My doctor said no lifting but she should have also said no twisting, pulling, stretching. You will feel it. When you do, STOP and rest. Best wishes for a problem-free surgery and recovery!

Thanks for your reply Smileanyaway! Should be smile away now!
How long was it before you were able to twist pull stretch. I love zumba dance (excercise) Then again, I may not feel like I would like to resume zumba by then.

Re: Prolapse/rectocele/cystocele

I avoided all lifting, pulling etc the first 6 weeks. Things like taking clothes out of the washer and putting them in the dryer, unloading the dishwasher and putting the dishes away, carrying bags of groceries would hurt. Someone posted a gal of milk is 8.5 lbs! Even rolling sideways in my office chair and reaching for something caused a stingy pain. I still notice a twingy feeling when I do too much but it's getting better slowly but surely.
I use a compact Nordic Trak stepper to exercise that hasn't caused me any problems. I've played some baseball with my son running, catching, and throwing without problems now.
Again, I wish you all the best!
