Re: pre-op jitters

I didn't have the same procedure as you are having but I wanted you to know I've read your post and hope all goes well tomorrow. Jitters are completely normal and you will find when you're post-surgery anything you're experiencing will have already been experienced by somebody who will be more than happy to share and help. Even if practical advice can't be given you will find so much support here and women who understand how you are feeling.

This site is really helpful and I have learned so much and also been reassured so many times.

for tomorrow

Re: pre-op jitters

I had a LAVH about a week ago. I however did not have a bladder sling. So I can only tell you about what to expect from the LAVH. I had surgery on the 15th and today I made cinnamon swirl bread!! Granted my husband helped me knead the bread and moved heavy bowls around, but I am already walking around and doing things on my own! My first day I was in the hospital...just overnight after the surgery...and the second and third day I was pretty much camped on my couch. But even then I was still getting around!

So I think that you can expect to just be sore and tired! The pain meds should control any pain that you have but it should just be soreness. I thought that the pain and soreness was going to be bad and that even a week afterwards I would be crying on the couch in agony..ok well maybe that is a bit of an over reaction but hey lol!!...but I feel good! I am still taking vicodin but I have never felt like the pain was to much to deal with!

Good luck at the castle tomorrow!! Everything will be just fine!!

Re: pre-op jitters

Praying for you for to have peace for tonight. My LASH was on 09/12, so I'm still early post-op. But I can honsestly say the waiting beforehand was so much harder than anything I faced in this recovery period. I searched all over this site to try and find someone with symptoms like mine (have Adenomyois and IC), it helped to to see what others had tried. Just keep in mind, we are all wonderfully and individually made, so another "sister" may have a totally different result with bladder sling and hyster combined than you might have. Just know you will have many prayers sent up for you tomorrow!
