Re: Belley band or not???

I ordered the Belly Binder from Hyster Sisters 4 days after my surgery - wish I had known about it before surgery! I just love it - still after 6 weeks I wear it every night to bed. It really helps with rolling over on my side and just feels more comfortable. Early on I wore it during the day and it helped with my walking around the house. Good luck to all you sisters! Hope all goes well for you and that you have smooth recoveries

Re: Belley band or not???

My doc said since I was having a TVH I wouldn't need one. No tummy cuts. Well I got a different one myself before and wear it sometimes. Not often though. I don't like anything pressing on my tummy at all when I can help it.

Re: Belley band or not???

I am having the daVinci surgery, and I asked my doctor about it, and he said I wouldn't need it. However, after reading all the testimonies from ladies on this site and also on the Belly Bandit site, I do think it will help. First of all, I am overweight and have a stomach t begin with. Secondly, even now when I cough, I can feel all my muscles in my stomach tighten -- I just think that having my uterus removed and having that extra support from a belly binder is going to help with the pain!

I don't think my doctor was saying "I don't want you to get one" -- just that he didn't think it would be necessary.

Re: Belley band or not???

I didn't actually ever use one. I'm two weeks out on Monday and my tummy has pretty much settled down. I have one area behind an incision that occasionally kinda throbs (hard to describe) but otherwise I can't complain. It was hard to roll over the first week or so, but now my biggest complaint is my energy levels--yet I know that if I can regularly add a little more exercise to my routine the levels will return...
