Re: I have a ?

Its probably routine that they check your blood sugar before surgery then. Ask a lot of questions and make sure u understand what they are telling you. When is your surgery?

Re: I have a ?

Hmm, sorry not sure about that. You should ask tho...write your questions down as u think of them, so when u go to the Dr u have them all written down. Also, start a new post and label it something like "a question for diabetics" maybe someone here knows and can help you. Good luck to you.

Re: I have a ?

Yes, they need a blood sugar to see if what your blood levels have been and are now.
I know that they do surgeries for diabetics, but if your blood sugar is high, they may postpone the surgery.
I am not sure why. Maybe anesthesia or bleeding may be more of a problem, and healing may definitely be more difficult.

Hopefully someone that has diabetes with a higher than normal blood sugar reading at the time of surgery will post soon.

I am a borderline diabetic, and I still was able to get my surgery.
They took my blood work pre-op, and they took it right before my surgery.
It was 92.

I am sure they will work something out, but the doctor's decision is for your own safety.

Good Luck!
