I totally agree and am the same regarding meds -- scared silly of what might happen.....but I know several girls who quit hormones and they are off the wall cranky and honest to a fault, that filtering trap door just doesn't work when we quit hormones! I tried to quit for a while and realized I'd be divorced and alone if I did, plus I just feel so good and happy on them.

My mom had a hysterectomy when she was 45 and she has been taking HRT for 44 years now! The doctor suggested she quit at 82 years old, but mom said she couldn't figure out why as she was feeling good and still going strong, so she's still on them. I kinda think they really helped her out, she looks 75 and has energy like a 65 year old.

BTW, I had migraines once upon a time in my life, I was 44 at the time, my husband told me to cut back on work (he said, "being married to you is like being married to one of those CEOs you see on TV"), I cut back and wha-la my migraines quit. They are incredible pain, like a screw driver going into your head.....so maybe yours are stress too...?

This is a site for those who are considering or are having their uterus removed, thus many may not need progesterone after surgery. When one retains the uterus, progesterone is a must when taking estrogen.

Yes, I read up and Googled all of the hysterectomy and HRT facts/myths. I'm still learning but I learned that if you KEEP your uterus, I'm assuming that means NOT having a hysterectomy...(Lol) and go thru natural menopause u need progesterone, but u don't need it if u don't have your uterus. This site is wonderful, it has helped me TREMENDOUSLY.
