Treating myself

My LAVH is Monday. I'm treating myself to a pedicure right now. Getting nervous. But ready to get this done! Any last minute tips for me?

Re: Treating myself

Biggest thing, take care of you! Follow the dr's orders and if in doubt, call it out. Ask the dr's anytime you think something isn't right. REST REST REST! Best wishes.

Re: Treating myself

Listen to your body. Your doctor may say six weeks and you are back to normal. Different bodies take different times. It took me until week 9. Now, I am doing very well! Best wishes!

Re: Treating myself

I had a pedicure before surgery, too...great idea! I am 4 days post-op LAVH and I'm fine really. I've had minimal pain. With the LAVH, the gas pain is probably your biggest concern. Get up and WALK in the hospital as soon as they will let you. I asked to have them get me up and it was the only thing that helped with the gas. My appetite is returning, I've pooped, I slept all night last night...and I haven't even taken ibuprofen today yet. Honestly, this surgery produced way less discomfort than my periods over the last 6 years.

Good luck to you...wishing you an easy surgery and an easy recovery
