Starving all the time!
This is something new for me: I had a 2-day bout with stomach pain & diarrhea just before my period this week. Now for 5 days, I can't get enough food. At first, I thought it was a virus, and I was just making up for not eating much while I was sick. But this hunger just goes on & on.
Could the whole thing have been caused by my stupid fibroid? Does anyone else get so hungry that your stomach hurts before or during your period?
I'm scheduled for Nov. 29, because it would be so much easier for my schedule to do it then. But I'm not sure I can wait that long, if this is what the next two months will be like.

Re: Starving all the time!
I saw my GP this week, and he's running blood tests to narrow down what's causing my issues. I also have a consultation with my gyn on Friday. I'll find out the test results tomorrow--not really expecting anything there.
If the symptoms don't improve, I think I'll call the gyn office this week to tell them what's going on. Then, if she's concerned, maybe she'll have me come in earlier. Otherwise, I think I'll be OK until Friday.
But I missed a lot of work last week, and I don't want that to happen every three weeks from now until Thanksgiving. Not to mention how uncomfortable I am right now! Up until this week, I thought I was doing pretty well.

Re: Starving all the time!
I have episodes where I am constantly hungry and if I don't eat something eventually I have severe stomach pain. After all the tests and appointments they found that it was actually caused by an ulcer. Now, when I feel it start I immediately restrict my diet to bland food and eat antacids....shortens the length of the episode cause it starts healing faster. Don't know if this helps but I hope so...Good Luck!

Re: Starving all the time!
Thank you! I had no idea an ulcer could cause that. That sounds manageable and not too scary!

Have you had your thyroid tested? If it's out of whack, it can cause hunger. It's a simple blood test. Good luck to you!

Re: Starving all the time!
The anxiety and stress of medical issues can sure cause stomach acid, which can in turn eat the stomach lining. Let's hope it's simple as that cause you can learn to avoid the things that make it worse. Let us know how it goes!
